My experience started with a call to Southport for a second look opinion. They were highly recommended. The technician Tyler was able to find and explain the problem/s I was having with my 20 year old furnace and AC unit. He went over my options thoroughly, quickly set up a time for Justin to go over those options with necessary numbers, and the appointment was made for a new furnace and AC. The technicians Max, Diego and Aaron did a fantastic job with removal of my existing system and new installation. They treated me and my home with respect, paying great attention to detail. Max explained the process as they went along, making sure any question I had was answered. Nathan, the sales manager was even kind enough to stop and make sure I was happy with the whole process. The entire staff exceeded my expectations and were so professional, courteous and respectful, which is especially appreciated, as home repairs can be quite stressful. I highly recommend Southport.

Southport responded quickly and effectively in replacing our sump pump on the day of the storm on 4/17/2026 where our lower level of our home flooded. Both Alex and Andy responded. Despite not being on call, Andy responded as a neighbor and ensured that the sump pump got installed himself so that the overflow would stop and damage would be minimized. This included working in the midst of the water at 3am. I suspect the water damage and overall impact would have been exponentially worse if not for Andy’s dedication to solving the problem. I was out of town when this occurred and both my spouse and I are very grateful for Andy and Southport’s prompt emergency response. Approximately a week later we proceeded with installation of a battery backup. Thank you for the service and assistance in mitigating this very stressful and difficult situation.

I saw Southport at a remodeling trade show at Monona Terrace in Madison, and requested an inspection of the heat pump in my 40+ yo condo. The person scheduling the appointment handled a last minute change to the appt professionally and accommodated my request. The technician was also very professional and knew his trade incredibly well. When the inspection unsurprisingly showed the unit needed replacement, I was still provided with repair options, pricing on individual repairs, and payment methods. A definite bonus was the tech was personable and empathetic, going as far as laughing at my dad jokes (they're bad, trust me 🙄). Finally, there was no pressure to pay for additional services, or any hard sales to purchase anything or repair on the spot. Overall a great experience, I will be using Southport going forward.

Last week we had Tornados in our area. While listening to the warnings, the meteorologist mentioned a back up sump pump would be beneficial to have. I scheduled an appointment with Southport home services. Andrew came out and explain how the system works. He then gave me prices.. He was able to install the system the same day. I highly recommend Southport Home Services.

My technicians were quite well informed and highly skilled in replacing all of the plumbing in the basement (hot water heater, sump pump, back up sump pump and battery, ejector pump). Highly recommend this company and the specific technician that performed all the work.

I noticed water on the floor on Friday morning below water heater. Called and service tech came out early afternoon. Problem confirmed and new one installed by late afternoon. Entire process was smooth and without incident. Tech was very professional and consistently communicated status so I stayed informed.

With all the flooding we had I was concerned about how often my sump pump was running and if it was working correctly. Tanner from Southport was here promptly and checked my sump pump over as well as the drainage hose I installed making sure everything was working as expected. Southport is always great!! I've had them out for a couple of planned items in the past, so when my sump pump died this morning, they were my first and only call. Not only did they give me a 2 hour time frame in the first phone call, but they continued to call me back and update me as the technicians arrival time changed! Justin was the technician dispatched to my house. He was awesome. There's simply no other word for it. He looked at the pump, gave me 3 quotes, let me pick & choose the features & warranty I wanted, then immediately went to work because all the parts were already on his truck. He also gave me the name of a water remediation company they work closely with and coached me on what questions to address with that other service provider!! I will truly never call anyone else again. Southport has earned my business FOR LIFE!

Sump Pump and Maintenence Free Battery Backup Assembly installation, somewhat expensive.

I hired Southport to perform general maintenance on my Carrier furnace/AC. "Phil" came out to perform this service on a June 2025 new installation. He brought a new level of knowledge & expertise for HVAC systems. Especially impactful was his practical approach to preserving the long-term viability of one of the more costly systems that people buy for homes. His views on what future services are necessary, and which ones are wasteful were very helpful. He also has one of the best personalities that you will find with a service technician! Great guy and knows how to treat the customer! Southport is fortunate to have him on the team!

We had a furnace go out over the weekend. Southport was out first thing Monday to diagnose possible repair cost. Being. 20 year old furnace we elected to go with replacement. Another rep came out the next day and gave us a very reasonable proposal. Crew came out the next day for installation of both furnace and a/c. Very friendly crew. Nick and Max drove from their Caledonia location to get installed and did a great job.

I had Southport come in to give me a quote to raise some pipes in my basement. Justin and Jackson were super polite and professional during their inspection.

My sump pump failed during a recent storm and my basement flooded. Southport came out and replaced the sump pump, cracked PVC piping and installed a backup battery with a wifi connection. Our technician Justan was very thorough and even helped set up our wifi connection for the new system. Answered all of our questions and was very polite and professional. Price was slightly expensive ($3100 with discount to sign up for their maintenance program), but the peace of mind to have a dry basement is worth it. It stormed last night, and new sump pump worked perfectly.

I have Excellent Experience with Southport Home Services. Our 20 years old water heater was acting up of and on. I called several providers including Southport to fix the issue and guess who stood out ? Of course Southport. I made an appointment for 3/19/26 but due to some reason I had to reschedule appointment earlier. Within 3 hours technician Nick showed up at the door the day I called 3/17 morning. He checked water heater thoroughly and gave me his honest opinion that he didn’t find nothing wrong with the unit. I trusted his sincere opinion. Also he educated with all info in case if we opt for new unit with their quotes for a new water heater. He also provided Southport Shield Benefits membership details. Bunch of Thanks to Nick. Our drain line (lav) was leaking through the ceiling drywall. Called Southport and they came out the same day to assess. There was no call-charge, which I appreciated. Alex came back, opened a 5 foot section of the drywall, replaced the lav and a portion of the hot water pipe, which were beyond corroded. It was a messy job, but Alex got it done with a smile and cleaned up. Afterwards, I noticed a rattling in the wall upstairs. I suspected an old copper pipe anchor was knocked loose when cutting the hot water line. Southport sent Travis the same day to take a look. He said this was normal and nothing to worry about and left. This repair cost me $1,700 (which is a little overpriced imo) so I didn't appreciate brushing the issue away. I called again and Justin came out the next day. Using some creative ingenuity he was able to solve the problem! Overall really nice guys and I'm very happy in the end.

We have used Southport for a number of years for a variety of things, ranging from plumbing to HVAC issues. The staff answering the phone lines is always pleasant and knowledgeable; someone calls or texts when the technician is on the way, with the tech's name and approximate arrival time. If it's a text, a picture of the tech accompanies the text message. The technicians are always polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient — and they clean up after themselves promptly. On the rare occasion when they're stumped by something, they get immediately call a colleague and have a conversation about the issue. These calls almost always end with the combined wisdom of years of experience being brought to bear, and the technician in our home gets the job done, and done right. We appreciate that they always wear shoe coverings so they don't track anything into the house. The technicians are happy to explain what they are seeing and finding, and what it means to our system — for both good and bad! The iPads they carry with them have access to all our account info, so they can go over the charges with us and then email them immediately after we sign. Southport is highly professional, very reliable, and trustworthy. Can you find a cheaper repair service? Probably. But the sum total of the deal — quick responses, appointments set up according to our schedule and pretty quickly, Polite, reliable, and knowledgeable technicians, and good work, make them worth every penny. We recommend them highly without reservation.

After several quotes-we ended up going with Southport Madison to do a full furnace/AC replacement. They were so kind, professional and intentional with their work. They worked diligently to get our heat up and running as quickly as possible. After the work was completed, they cleaned up and made it look better than it was before they got there. I needed a new water heater replaced and a water shut down system installed. Josh came did everything it took a few hours. He was knowledgeable and very friendly and cleaned up after himself which I loved.

My heat was going out. I have a 9 year old in the home as well as a dog. They were able to come out...give me a very good quote AND within a day or so install the New Furnace and AC unit without interrupting my work schedule!!!! They worked around me. They went over everything they did with me when I got home. They left the area they worked in cleaner than it was when they came in. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, ready to answer my questions even if they were silly.

Our old tankless water heater for a small in-floor radiant heat system was having problems and we had Southport out to discuss troubleshooting/repair options as well as replacement. We ended up choosing a new boiler system and we're finding it provides much more consistent temperatures than the old system. Everyone at Southport was very professional and nice to deal with, and we appreciate the great customer service.

My furnace gave out during one of the coldest winter in 30 years, -48 below zero. I called Southport home services and they fit me in within a couple hours. They assesed the issues, offered options, and assisted with understanding the problem at hand. As busy as they were they fit me in for installation of a new forced air furnace the very next day, saving me thousands of dollars in broken water pipes. I cannot speak highly enough about how quickly they were able to accommodate our needs. Furnace repair/ furnace would not turn on.

Travis, our plumber, was very pleasant, personable, knowledgeable and even reported to us the extent of our damage was much more than we expected and required a water damage remediation company. We always felt comfortable that we were in good hands. He gave us a recommendation, and we are happy with his recommendation as well. On a day when the temperature was in the minus digits, our furnace stopped working. Being a Saturday, we needed an emergency service call. After the initial call in to the answering service to report our issue, we quickly received a call from Phil the technician letting us know he could be out to our house within about an hour. Phil arrived when he said he would and did a great job resolving our issue. He was friendly and very informative, answering our many questions. Although it wasn’t a great situation to be in, Phil made it much better. I would not hesitate to reach out to Southport again in the future.

Phil came out on an after hours emergency furnace repair. He was there very quickly. My house was down to 37! I have a Nest thermostat and was alerted by the app. I was out of town at the time. He did quick work and got it running within 1/2 hour. Super nice guy and stayed for a bit to assure the furnace was working correctly. Southport was the only company that returned my call within minutes. I recommend Southport and Phil for quick repairs. 5 stars for service but I’m not sure if it was overpriced? They got the job done so my pipes didn’t freeze and that’s the important part.

I’ve been using Southport for years - HVAC and plumbing. I’ve had nothing short of stellar experiences every time. They’re very responsive, are extremely knowledgeable and all-around friendly. I very much recommend utilizing their maintenance plan as this has saved me money and also has helped to extend the life of my furnace and AC unit. I’ve recommended them to friends and family - absolutely 5 star service!

We had a shut off valve unexpectedly. We called Southport and they said they wouldn't have anyone available until after hours. If any of the techs became available sooner they would let us know. Long story short. Justin finished a job early and was able to come right over. He was able to fix the issue and we had water again in just a few hours from valve failure to repair being finished.

Southport has proven to be well worth the expense. Knowing they are always there when a need arises is comforting. Knowing they are good people is a bonus. The office staff are always pleasant and helpful, and all the technicians have been very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

We contacted the company to help us out in a pinch for our sump pump. The turn around for the project was less than a day which was a lifesaver. We were in an active thaw and the water could easily have become a huge problem that would have cost us thousands of dollars and endless nightmares. Nicholas Nelson- should out to Nick- arrived to our home in a timely fashion. He communicated effectively with us regarding the problems we were having and quickly honed in on the source of our issues and offered solutions. Nick was not pushy when offering options and gave frank recommendations that helped us come to a decision quickly and with confidence. The work was done in a timely fashion and the quality of the work was exactly what we expected. On top of everything else, he was great with our dogs. Couldn’t have hoped for a more professional representative of the company!

We woke up on a cold morning and the hot water heater was leaking out of the top. Southport got to me quickly. The tech they sent was polite, professional, and walked me through everything. I checked around with six different companies. Southport home services gave me the best price. Sales person gave me different options, I chose the one that best fit in my budget. HONESTY and INTEGRITY matters. After having another HVAC warranty company check my furnace and air conditioner, I was told that because of all the problems with them, I would be better off in the long run to just replace both. The units are only 6 years old. I sought out a second opinion by calling Southport. Their assessment showed there was nothing wrong with the furnace. We recently signed up with Southport shield, and this was a first visit from a technician, Jacob, and it was absolutely wonderful, 5 star rating. He was knowledgeable, personable, and he could keep up talking with my husband and answer all his questions. He even suggested a couple of possible upgrades to extend the life of our furnace. We are impressed with Southport and will suggest them to others.

Started out with Max the sales guy which was down to earth, no nonsense, and very helpful when explaining everything in laymen’s terms. His boss Nate finished it off with some additional details and off to the races. They sent out 3 guys - Max, Kenny, and Tyler out for a full HVAC replacement. Mine was 45 years old, and while like a lot of things made during that time, it was a tank, but just ran like crap and my bills were crazy high. They got there right on time around 7:30am and by 4:30pm I had a warm blast of air and then a cold blast of air all over my face, neck, and chest. Snoogans! Max (different one than the sales person) walked me through my system, gave me the warranty schpeel, and my wife that thinks 65 during the fall is cold decided to give it a run, and you know what, it didn’t take 3 hours to raise my house temperature a few degrees… just about 10-20 minutes. Success!

The crew installing our new furnace and heat pump was prompt, polite and demonstrated a very happy attitude while working in our home. They were quick to call for needed parts when they realized they were confronted with an unexpected problem, and the supervisor who brought the parts was kind and encouraging, and took a personal interest in seeing that the job was able to move forward quickly. Once the system was installed and tested, the crew lead took his time teaching us how to access our new smart thermostat on our smart phones. Our need for extra "think time" to understand how that worked was not a problem, although I am sure he was ready to get home after a long day at work. We appreciated the polite request to ask us to post this review and we're very happy to oblige after their very respectful time spent in our home. Jacob did a very good job tuning up my furnace, he got it done quickly but he was very thorough. Jacob gave me a detailed explanation of the condition of my 5-year-old furnace and showed me that the blower motor was dirty and should be cleaned soon. Jacob Monday and Vincent Beyer (both AC/furnace maintenance workers) and Tommy Reynard (plumber) have all been excellent at providing estimates and service.

The team of Jacob and Vincent were excellent to work with. They were engaging, listened, made recommendations and even down sold a service that I didnt need. I asked about a duct cleaning service, but after checking the airflow and accumulation of dust they said I didnt need it. They saved me money and made a customer for life with their honesty.

Great service, including diagnosing the issues with our previous system, walking through the options for repair vs replacement, and a smooth install of the new system. Pricing was also really competitive!

They were good at explaining what they are doing and taking the time to explain it to you. Also, very prompt.

Southport helped us install some new HVAC equipment. The staff were great, and the new dehumidifier and ERV system keep our house's internal environment comfortable. Our humidity would creep up to 70% on 70 degree days, and the new system works wonderfully to keep the humidity around 50%.

Southport Home Services is a great company and a great choice to take care of your HVAC needs. Although we have dealt with a couple of the other local service companies, we were lucky to come across Southport when we were ready to replace our furnace and AC. They made good, solid, recommendations, suggested going with a heat pump, and did NOT try to upsell us on more than we needed. Jackson Barrow and the installation team were fantastic to work with; knowledgeable, patient, willing to explain and educate as they did their work. They fixed some issues with the previous system's infrastructure and made sure we were well taken care of. When we had a minor issue (no fault of Southport) Jackson and team came back out prompltly and took care of it, despite our request being a bit of extra work for them. I really can't recommend them highly enough!

Had issue where the entire HVAC system shut down. Called one popular company and they first asked if I wanted a new furnace. I said no, and then they said it would be a week before they could come. I called Southport, and they were professional and helpful! Service technicians came out within a couple of hours and diagnosed the problem and corrected three issues with the system. Very happy that they came and took a look at fixing what I had, rather than trying to sell me new. Highly recommend these folks to anybody who just needs their system looked at and fixed. One thing for sure, when it comes to getting a new furnace or air conditioner, these are the folks I'm going to call!!
